I got to inspect her a bit.

Not much time hassling the guy when buying it. You do not do that to much with a bike such as this. Buy and run before he changes his mind?

I was told the bike was parked because of no spark.

I think it was put up for storage.

I can see why the points are half gone from pitting.

All the plates and springs are free and every thing was coated in electrical grease.

The spark plugs were brand new and coated with never seize. I could see the tops of pitons and had slight carbon build up but no holes or signs of detenation.

Every side cover bolt pulled out had a coating like dipped in oil before put back in.

All three cyl blew my thumb off with ease.

The oil was full and so clean you could not see it until you wiped it off with your hand.

The oil pump is free and not sticking. I belive that is what that is buy clutch cable under cover?

I got to get the carbs off and cleaned all the slides are stuck.

And find a new electronic ingition or fit a magneto on her.

I went to the ktm dealer here about 15 miles from me.

The man there has one the AMA master engine builder for 20 yrs straight here.

I went in and told him what bike I had.

He said I have 3 in back right now.

1 guy was quoted 1500 dollars and I have repaired for 289.

2. guy was told broken rod and was a total lost and he repaired for 1000$

3 was a tune up 90$

I told him What I had heard about him and told him I would do what ever he said to do.

Then asked about replacing my points with elctronic ing.

He said that is a collectors item and not to change it. It would hurt the value.

I said I did not care about the collectors value but he said points she would have points.

He then asked me what my plan for the bike was.

I said I hope to go to Boneville next yr for speed week.

He instanly said you are a man of my same passion.

Told me what curve to electronic ing.

I said he had free will to port the heads how ever do what he wanted in any way to her but, I wanted to be able to ride on the street also.

He said no problem!

Said he had friends to hook me up with local speed racing and to put her on the dyno to get the gearing right for the salt.

He also said to bring the bike and his friend would build a custom exhaust for her.

I told him he builds the exhaust I will build the frame to fit the motor.

I also told him I had NO money!

He told me not a problem and that he wanted to work with me more than a guy with a open check book!
He said he could tell I would build the bike.

Mean while by this time 6 guys stood there paying customers as me and him talked for over 1/2 an hr. His wife the sales attendant looked on and they waited until our conversation was over.

He said bring her back in 1 month in the fall as the season had died down and he would start and prices would be so much cheaper and he could devote more time to her.

I told him that there was no deadline and I knew his reputation!

He told me she would be ready for the salt.

and he wanted to come and watch. I said he could ride her.

He told me to look into the classifacation and what I could run so not to have a problem.

I am going to make a set of high compression drag heads like these on my mill also. Switch out between the street and race heads will be easy just 4 bolts.
