Chris Waugh from Teesside but now in East Herts.
Just got a(n) H1E 1973, unfinished restoration import, hilarious fun.
Runs on 2.5 cylinders (centre only fires occasionally)
Member of VJMC, planning on doing shows and rides.
Not too many rude surprises yet, gear lever fouls on pipe, new SS JL pipes going on soon.
Pod filters removed (anyone want them, postage cost only?)
Bought and fitted a pattern 3 into 1 carb rubber and mounted a Huge K&N on top of it.
Today I'm fettling carbs with the jet kit from Ivan with new needles and emulsion tubes.
Bear in mind this bike ran...
There was No Main Jet in number 1 carb, and that's one of the cylinders that worked...
It's got a split personality, RH side, chrome seat trim, correct badge, LH side no seat trim and different badge.
Its had a full engine rebuild, crank, seals, 0.5 over rebore with honing marks still visible.
New rims & spokes, new tyres, as new pipes (for sale soon) mudguards as new, passable paint.
Fitted new flasher relay, Joe Lucas £6.80, new front brake hydraulic switch, Joe Lucas £8.50.
PowerDyno sparks & gen kit to be fitted soon.
Got a bike lift, I'll need to invent a paddock style roll on lifter fitted to the lift once the
expansion pipes go on and the centre stand removed.
Fuel tap not closing properly, again, I might tweek the spring a bit.
Having a few problems with kick start and brake pedal due to knackered leg,
there might have to be a bit of bending involved.
And now I'm skint and can't afford to run it :shock:

I would be very interested in the pipes if you decide to sell them?

It's generally the 4 hole front tap seal, it needs a perfect seal onto the tap lever, make sure the lever face is good and the seal is not split or deformed
