Oil pump thread inserts.

Postby chris33 » Sat Oct 01, 2016 11:18 am

Hi all

Yet another oil pump question. I have a shot oil pump with stripped threads, I've measured the bolts and they are M5x 1.0 pitch, tried looking for a time sert/ helicoil kit but no luck so far. Does anybody have any ideas where to get such a kit from.

Thanks all.

I've repaired dozens over the years, you can either use a regular helical or a timesert . . . . I always used the short helicons (they DO come in 2 lengths) but buggered If I can remember where I use to get them from :? . . . . Machine Mart maybe?
As far as possible be on good terms with all persons. Speak your truth quietly and clearly and listen to others, even the dull and ignorant, they too have their story. Remember always, there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.

Been a complete biff. Yep they are all M6x0.1. I have no idea how I measured M5 thread. Thanks for your replies and help.
Rebuilt my 2 pumps I have and tested both of them and work wonderfully.
